Is It Time to Repent?

Ministering to the ungodly is not easy for a righteous man or woman.  When you see people living in sin, it brings angry feelings. However, before we were Christians, we were this way as well.  John the Baptist ministered to the lost every single day in the wilderness.  He would baptize sinners and tell them to turn away from their sins and instead repent.

Repentance is a time that we must look at our heart and see if its following after Christ or if we are doing whatever we feel like.  In Acts 2:38, the apostle Peter tells us to repent of our sins so that we can receive the Holy Spirit.

The first time that I received the Holy Spirit, I felt an overwhelming feeling of peace. I had people praying over me and I did receive the Holy Spirit. I praise God now for saving my soul.  I am happy to say that giving my life to Jesus has given me a new meaning for living.  If you are thinking about giving your soul to Jesus, I suggest that you do it so that you can feel the working power of Jesus in your life.

Repentance is a time in which we can have all our sins wiped away. No matter what you have done, Jesus will forgive you.  Remember, the world may never forgive you because it chooses to judge you. However, Jesus Christ himself will redeem your soul. You will spend your eternity with him in paradise for repenting of your sins.  Please read Acts 3:19 which tells us that your sins will be wiped away.

The best feeing that a human being can have is when Jesus Christ wipes their sins away. You have a feeling of freedom.  Your mind will constantly try to remind you of all the negative things that you have done. However, know that once you ask Jesus for forgiveness and repent of your sins, you are forgiven.

Surprisingly, the Holy Bible tells us in Hebrews 4:12 that the Holy Bible judges our attitude of the heart and thoughts. I know that when I read the Holy Bible, it condemns me of the wrongs that I do every single day and don’t even realize that its sin half of the time. Praise God for giving us a Holy Bible that shows us the sins that we commit on a day to day basis.

We Have a Responsibility When We Sin

In James 1:14, the New Testament reminds us that our own evil desires take us away from doing what is right.  When our own evil desires take hold of us, temptation comes to us.  Have you ever had something inside of you that you know is wrong? The thought of it excites you, but you know that the Holy Bible says not to do it.  It’s because of this desire that the devil comes to tempts you and then the temptation causes you to fall into sin.

It’s important that you pray and ask Jesus to take away any sinful desire within you.  This will help you in the long run because you won’t have to deal with temptation as much for that sin. For instance, I have never smoked cigarettes in my life.  Tempting me to smoke right now would have no influence on me because I am not interested in it.

However, I love chocolate cake and can become overweight if I eat to much of it. This can ultimately cause me to have health issues such as high cholesterol if I am eating it a lot.  Wouldn’t it be nice if I had no desire for chocolate cake to begin with? It’s the desire that leads to the temptation. Some Christians and non-Christians alike don’t do well when they are tempted.  They will often fall into sin.

People Who Don’t Repent Will Perish

The Holy Bible is clear that people who don’t repent will perish (Luke 13:3).  Your soul is at stake when it comes to repentance.  I know that living for Jesus is hard in a world full of temptation.  It’s hard because we want to do what is right, but often fall into sin because we can’t withstand the temptation that is all around us.

President Donald Trump Claimed That He Doesn’t Sin

In 1 John 1:8, the Holy Bible reminds us that we are deceiving ourselves if we believe we have no sin within us. When we think that we don’t sin, we deceive ourselves.  President Donald Trump said this in an interview with CNN.  Amazingly, he is not alone.  When someone is not saved, they often believe that they are a good person and will get saved by the good that they do.  The Holy Bible says that opposite.  We must pray for those that are spiritually lost and need salvation.

As you can see from the scripture verses above, the Holy Bible does show us when we have sinned.  When we recognize that sin, we should repent.

Make Your Confession to Christ

When we sin, we often walk around with guilt and shame.  However, in Christ, there is forgiveness (1 John 1:9).  You don’t have to walk around in shame anymore.  Repent and don’t do it again.

Don’t worry about what other people will think about you. Unfortunately, mankind has a bd way of pointing the finger at you and calling you horrible names for sins that you committed. The only thing that you can do is repent from the sin and move on from it.  Of course, apologize to those that you have offended and try to restore their trust in you.  However, sometimes this is not always possible.

If you are in jail for murder, armed robbery, drug trafficking of child molestation, society may find it hard to trust you again. However, know that in Christ, you are forgiven.  You can only try your best to restore people’s trust in you.  Pray that God puts people in your life that will give you another chance to have love and friendship around you.  Don’t expect everyone to want to give you a second chance.

In Christ, we are all sinners. There is no one sin worse than the next.  Therefore, it is necessary to not feel guilt and shame when you are redeemed in Christ.

Some of the Worst Sinners Before Serving God:

King David – Had a man killed in battles so that he could take his wife that he lusted for.

Peter the Apostle – Denied Jesus 3 times even though he called him Lord.  He also cut off the ear of a soldier as they came to arrest Jesus.

Moses – Killed an Egyptian man for beating a Jewish slave.

King Solomon – Worshipped false Gods while serving the true one Yahweh.

Apostle Saul – He killed Christians before becoming saved.

God wants to see everyone repenting of their sins. He wants nobody to perish (2 Peter 3:9).  When you get impatient about Jesus return, know that God is only allowing for all people to repent of their sins. Once Jesus returns, repentance can no longer happen.  You will either go to heaven or hell.

How to Get Saved

The Holy Bible tells us that if you believe in your heart that Jesus Christ was raised from the dead and declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, you will be saved. Yes, its that easy.  However, many people will not believe in their heart that Jesus rose from the dead or declare out loud that Jesus is Lord.

If you refuse to believe in Jesus, ask God to put this belief inside of your heart.  God can work miracles even for the most stubborn people.
